Depave promotes the removal of unnecessary pavement from urban areas to create community green spaces and mitigate stormwater runoff. They are looking for projects in our neighborhood.

The Safety and Livability is assembling a list of possible projects for  Depave . The current list projects can be downloaded here:

Two Chances to Help Remove Graffiti in Northwest Portland

With the help of Central City Concern’s Community Volunteer Corps and the City of Portland’ s Graffiti Abatement Program, the Northwest District Association (NWDA) has organized  two neighborhood graffiti removal cleanups during July.  Everyone is welcome to join these efforts to remove the graffiti and stickers pestering our neighborhood.  Cleanups will occur rain or shine.

The first cleanup will include the Volunteer Corps and will meet at the ‘Pay to Park’ parking lot located on the north side of NW Glisan St. between NW 23rd and NW 24th Friday, July 22, 11am-3pm. This cleanup will focus on NW 23rd St.

The second cleanup will meet at Couch Park (NW Glisan St. at 18th), near the playground, on Saturday, July 23, 10am-noon. This cleanup will focus on the area around Couch Park and NW 21st.

Transportation Committee Meeting June 29

Transportation Committee and Neighbors:

Below, you can download the anticipated agenda for our Transportation Committee meeting next Wednesday the 29th at 6 pm. Note the change from our regular meeting date and our return to Legacy’s 2nd floor conference room at NW 22nd & Marshall.

Also below, you can download the  DRAFT recommendation and letter to TriMet pertaining to the Line 15 layover concern that was brought to the committee 2 months ago. There are two additional documents below that may be helpful. We expect to have neighbors attending this meeting who may want to provide further comment on that topic. Kerry Ayes-Palanuk from TriMet may also return for this meeting.

All neighbors are welcome.

We will do our best to time-limit the Line 15 topic to 50 minutes so we can cover other committee business, including a brief update on the Fred Meyer redevelopment plan for which we provided comment several months ago.

Committee members:  Please let me know if you cannot attend the meeting. Also, please review the draft report ahead of the meeting if you have not already done so. It would be helpful also to receive your early comments ahead of the meeting.
